Q&A

Q&A

You have questions, we have answers. Here you’ll find answers to the most common wedding questions that you might have asked yourself yet (…or not).

WHEN SHALL I BE AT THE LATEST AT THE VENUE?

The ceremony starts at 14:00, that’s why we recommend you to get to the museum at least 30min earlier. Once there, you should find some friendly faces with whom you might want to start talking to, or you  could take your time to look for the perfect seat for the ceremony. In any case, it would always be better to be there too early than too late. If you wanna know how the full day will look like please click here.

WILL THERE BE A DRESSCODE

Of course! We will even let you decide wether you wanna go classic and wear your elegant suit or dress that you usually like to wear for such occasions, or, alternatively dress yourself in a traditional yet festive Bavarian tracht. In this case please do make sure that you’ll have a real tracht and not a carnival costume that you could buy for 20 bucks at the Oktoberfest. If you do not own a proper one, but you really wanna come in that kind of clothes, make sure to get in contact with Wolfgang from Lederhosenverleih. Over there you will be able to rent the whole deal (big time) incl. jackets, shoes and many more for the weekend for quite a reasonable price.

HOW IS THE WEATHER GOING TO BE IN OCTOBER?

Good question! In a nutshell, we do not have a clue! Checking at the weather over the past 5 years, it always was sunny and “warm” (up to 20°C during the day) but in the morning and evening, temperatures are usually rough and cold. We guess, if you bear in mind temperatures around 12-15°, you should be on the safe side. If you take a jacket and a scarf with you, then you will probably last for the whole day and night.

WILL CEREMONY, RECEPTION AND APERO TAKE PLACE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

This is something we will (or have to) decide based upon the weather. But be sure that we already have good options for you either way. If the weather is nice and sunny we will try to stay outside as long as possible. If it’s cold or rainy, we gonna bring all the fun inside. In both cases, it gonna be beautiful!

HOW WILL THE DAY BE LIKE?

You will find all information regarding the daily schedule here.

WILL THERE BE DANCE AND ENTERTAINMENT?

Hell no! Germans don’t know the word “fun” – That’s at least what the rest of the world thinks stereotypically speaking! Maybe the French „bon vivant“ can help to compensate that, let’s see… Ok, let’s stop the clichés and prejudices about specific countries and their people. Of course, we gonna have lots of fun and entertainment for you. We will provide music, food and drinks and your job is simply to have fun and to spread the good vibes. With this combination in mind, we are pretty sure that the dancefloor will be packed until dawn.

I’D LIKE TO ENTERTAIN (SPEECH, GAME, …) THE NEWLY WEDS DURING DAY OR EVENING. WITH WHOM CAN I ORGANISE THAT?

Flattering! If you want to surprise us with a little show, go ahead!! Just discuss shortly with the best man or the bridesmaid so that it fits in the agenda. Therefore here are the contact details of them both:

BRIDESMAID:

Caroline Zöllner (ger – eng; phone: +49 176 – 77 10 25 35, please contact her via whatsapp)

BEST MAN:

Dorian Laurine (fr – eng – ger; phone: +33 689 – 56 12 87, please contact him via whatsapp)

HOW DO I GET TO THE VENUE? DO YOU PROVIDE SHUTTLE SERVICE?

We would love to offer you a shuttle service to prevent you from drinking and driving. We are in contact with different companies but didn’t choose one yet. We will let you know how we decided in the updates section. Stay tuned !

IS THERE PARKING AT THE VENUE?

Yes, the museum provides a big parking lot. Nevertheless, we would recommend you to use the shuttle service to ensure you would fully enjoy your evening. If you still wanna take your own car, you can park it at the museum and leave in there during the night as well. That could be an  option indeed.

CAN I BRING MY KIDS / BABIES?

We are pretty sure that our tiny Jan would love to have some “playbuddies” over there, so of course your kids / babies are more than welcome to join. We are in contact with the museum for the possibility of having a babysitter on site for the day and for the evening. We will let you know if there will be one and in case how it will look like in the updates section.

CAN I BRING A DATE?

If we sent you 2 invitations (beer coasters), then YES you can!

CAN I BRING MY CAT, DOG OR PET TURTLE?

If it’s stuffed and could work as decoration for the wedding tables, then YES! Otherwise unfortunately no…

I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS / ALLERGIES. WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO LET YOU KNOW?

You can inform us in the RSVP section. Please make sure, if you come with date / partner / kid to fill it out for each and everyone of you. We will then forward your dietary restrictions to the catering company.

DO YOU BOOK HOTEL BLOCKS FOR GUESTS?

Yes, that’s the plan. We will let you know up to when you need to book in the updates section.

HOW CAN I ACCEPT OR REFUSE THE INVITATION AND WHEN IS THE DEADLINE?

Please give us for feedback in the RSVP section at the latest on 22nd of February 2022.

UNFORTUNATELY I CAN’T ATTEND IN PERSON. WILL THERE BE A VIRTUAL WEDDING?

We hope that we will be able to celebrate “normally” and won’t need to plan for a virtual wedding. In the case something changes. we will notify y’all in the updates section.

I’M NOT FROM HERE. IS THERE ANYTHING TO DO AROUND SCHLIERSEE?

Of course, plenty! But the best would be to have a car available for your discovery trip. Here is a small list of nice things to do in the region:

  • Take a walk around Lake Schliersee and the old city of Schliersee next to it.
  • Have a whisky tasting at SLYRS, one of the few whisky distilleries Bavaria has to offer
  • Take the cable car up the mountains around and enjoy the amazing view
  • Take a walk around Lake Spitzingsee and go for a hike in the beautiful surroundings. To finish your trip, make sure to stop by the Albert-Link-Hütte.and eat their legendary Kaiserschmarrn (crazily good pancake alike dessert with fruit compote)
  •

DO YOU HAVE A WEDDING LIST?

We are working on it. As soon as we made up our minds what we need and/or desire, we will let you know by updateing the wedding list section. You will be able to send us your presents as well in that section so that you don’t need to transport additional things on your way to the venue.

CAN I BRING A MORE PERSONAL GIFT TO THE WEDDING AS WELL?

Yes, but just if this isn’t bigger than an envelope. We will probably have a lot to transport from and to the wedding venue, that’s why it would be a helpful not to add a bunch of big gifts to it.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER EVENTS BESIDE THE WEDDING THAT I CAN ATTEND TO DURING THE WEEKEND?

Yes, we are inviting all of our guests the next day to a bavarian brunch and will be happy to see some of you dressed in traditional clothes for the occasion. We will wear ours, so that is your chance to join us!

WHEN DOES THE RECEPTION END? IS THERE AN AFTER-PARTY / BRUNCH?

The reception ends with coffee and cake at 17:00. Afterwards you will have the possibility to join either a beer tasting tour or a guided tour through the museum meanwhile we sneak out to make some wonderful pictures. At 18:00 we will meet again to start the evening with an apéro (a french word for fingerfood and apéritif drinks). The party is then going to start once the dinner is over at approx. 22:00. At 11:00, the next day, we will meet again for brunch with some Bavarian Weißwurst.

WHAT KIND OF HYGIENICAL CONCEPT DO YOU HAVE FOR THE WEDDING?

Since we celebrate in Germany, we will have to stick to the German rules, meaning that you can attend only if

  • You are vaccinated (2 shots) and have a certificate to prove it
  • You are cured of a past COVID infection
  • You are freshly tested negative and can prove it with a PCR test certificate.

So if you aren’t already vaccinated, your only chance to attend would be to do a test before you enter the venue that has to have a negative test result. Otherwise, and unfortunately, you won’t be allowed to attend the wedding.

HOW DO YOU KEEP ME UPDATED ON LATEST NEWS OR ON ANY CHANGES RELATING THE WEDDING?

Please check the updates section. We try to keep things there simple and easy to find. Once you RSVP, we will also use your email to send you important updates (once in a while).

HOW DO I CONTACT YOU IN CASE OF ANY OTHER QUESTIONS?

If you have any other questions, you can always contact us right here below. Please note that your questions will be added to this list if they are either so brilliant or so original that we couldn’t withhold them from the rest of us.
